Many people snore without it bothering them, but it certainly bothers their partners! It can severely disrupt the partner’s sleep and in many relationships can lead to irritation. Snoring can cause a lot of noise, but the other kind, sleep apnea, causes stalled breathing after which the person suddenly starts breathing again. The partner is startled out of their sleep. Snoring is therefore also a huge problem for the snorer’s partner!
Sleep apnea is a type of snoring in which you stop breathing for a short time. Everyone does this, but it becomes a problem when it happens more than 5 times per hour. Usually a person stops breathing for 15-30 seconds. The brain is clever and gives a signal to wake up, which usually causes jerking. The sleeper then falls asleep again, breathing normally. People who don’t breath for more than 30 seconds don’t get enough oxygen, and some people even have to sleep with oxygen masks on.
The consequences of snoring and sleep apnea
The symptoms for someone who snores or has sleep apnea is sleeping restlessly, not waking up refreshed, falling asleep at unexpected moments during the day, and extreme fatigue. This can even prevent someone from doing his job properly and having to quit his job or being fired.
The cause of snoring and sleep apnea
The technical cause of sleep apnea is two-part:
- Either your brain sends too few signals to your respiratory muscles
- Or, the muscles in your mouth and throat relax too much, allowing, for example, your tongue too far into your throat.
3rd cause: emotional memory
In my opinion, snoring and sleep apnea also have a 3rd cause and that is emotional memory. Something happened that still bothers you at night, because in your sleep it can come out without any hindrance. The memory often involves a shock reaction; something really startled you. Most people don’t remember that moment.
What does the MIR-Method do for snoring?
The beautiful thing about the MIR-Method is that it deals with snoring and sleep apnea on many levels, causing it to slowly but surely improve.
Step 1: “Optimize acidity”. With this step, breathing is important because you dispose of acids by breathing them out. This means that with step 1 you can already notice improved breathing, also at night.
Step 2: “Detox all toxicity” causes all waste products that inhibit good sleep to be disposed of. Think about heavy metals such as mercury or amalgam (tooth fillings).
With step 3: “Detach father. Detach mother” you erase experiences with your father or mother, and particularly the emotional memory attached to them. You let go of having been startled or frightened.
Fear disappears with step 4: “Clear meridians” via the liver meridian. This meridian becomes disturbed when fears still unconsciously affect someone. The fears usually stem from your childhood in which you experienced situations you couldn’t do anything about as a child. These fears can unconsciously still have an effect and are slowly but surely erased with step 4!
Shortages of substances leading to muscle weakness are replenished with step 5: “Supplement all shortages”. Consider, for example, the mineral potassium, or hormones such as progesterone during pregnancy.
Step 6: “Balance hormone system” can also bring improvement. Women who are expecting children experience changes in their hormonal balance, causing muscles and ligaments to become softer and more elastic. It can also affect the uvula and cause snoring.
With step 7: “Fulfill basic needs” you work on improving your internal sense of security and your own feeling of protection, giving you more courage and self-confidence.
Step 8: “Optimize Chakras and aura” strengthens, among other things, chakra 1, the tailbone chakra. This one gives a basic sense of security through which you live less in survival mode and experience more internal security and peace.
As step 9: “Clarify mission” begins to function, a huge inner drive arises. This helps you to reach the core of what you want to do. It helps you to focus, and gives you the will to live and the drive to action, creating deep inner satisfaction: “Yes, I’m on my way again!”
If you work with the MIR-Method, it’s just a matter of time before the snoring improves. That will be a great blessing in many relationships! For sleep apnea, it may take longer, but working on the deeper causes is always helpful. Good luck!
