Celebrating your birthday, hooray! It’s the best day of the year. But not everyone feels that way. Many people have bad memories about their birthdays. When it’s their birthday, they don’t feel happy. They like to just skip the day, preferably forgetting that it’s their birthday. There’s something dark about it for them, on that one day of the year that you should actually feel happy.
The cause can often be found in your childhood. What happened? Did you have a lot of brothers and sisters and wasn’t there enough attention for you? It’s often about one small event that once took place on your birthday that still hangs around in your subconscious. If it’s your birthday, your feelings and thoughts unconsciously go there again. And your mood drops. Celebrate your birthday? Don’t feel like it!
The MIR-Method and birthdays
The 9 steps of the MIR-Method work on many levels, including memories with old emotions. If you have sad, angry or fearful memories about a birthday, you slowly erase them again with the MIR-Method.
That happens partially via step 3: ‘Detach father. Detach mother.’ Maybe your father or mother said something unpleasant during your birthday. Maybe your parents were divorced. With step 3 you erase these feelings and you can be happier about your birthday.
Step 4: ‘Clear meridians’ helps you let go of old emotions via the meridians. You feel less burdened by sadness, anger, guilt or fear can feel happy again on your birthday.
Step 7: ‘Fulfill basic needs’. Growing up in a family often means taking your brothers and sisters into account. With step 7 you fulfill your need for Attention, which you may have had a shortage of, even on your birthday.
