The good functioning of your brain is the heart of good health. The degree to which the parts of your brain cooperate with each other determines how healthy you are. It determines how you deal with emotions, how your hormone and nervous systems cooperate and how much your sense of logic and your intuition are in balance with each other. If your sense of logic, your analytical left-brain half, has been over-trained, you are probably missing a part of your potential. If you feel that you shouldn’t do something but ignore it because of your logic, then you work against yourself and that’s not good for your health.
How can you resolve toxic thoughts?
Our brain produces thoughts throughout the entire day. We have approximately 60,000 thoughts per day, but 90% of them turn out to be the same ones! What if those thoughts are mostly negative? “I’m worthless.” “That’s impossible.” Then they turn out to be really destructive and toxic! Thankfully, the MIR-Method has step 2: “Detox all toxicity”, which means that everything that is toxic slowly but surely leaves your system. And that’s even true for negative thoughts!
How does the MIR-Method stimulate your intuition?
The stroking of your hand that is part of the MIR-Method fosters your intuition. When you stroke one hand with the other, you activate both halves of your brain. By stimulating both halves of your brain, you stimulate the cooperation between them. It’s comparable to people playing the piano. They also create a strong connection between the left and right brain halves, through the corpus callosum, the cerebral bridge. You stimulate the connection between your rational and intuitive halves. Also read: ‘The 2 secrets of moving your body’ in which I explain more about this corpus callosum.
More right-brain use
Most people are trained in the use of the left half of their brain. The rational part, calculating, reading, details, analyzing, reasoning and logic, are more valued in western civilization than intuition. The intuitive right-brain half is broader; it keeps an overview and is the place where new ideas develop. It’s the place where it is quiet in your head, where inspiration is possible. And that’s just the place we need to be if we want to improve the world! The Dalai Lama said it so beautifully: “The world doesn’t need more successful people. The world needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, story tellers and lovers”. Thus, more right-brained, more intuitive people!
Does deep inner peace exist?
Jill Bolte Taylor is an American neurologist who herself had a stroke in the left half of her brain at the age of 37, from which she completely recovered. During her stroke, she was conscious the whole time and she could observe what happened. She was only able to use the right half of her brain. She didn’t know that she was a doctor anymore, lost her identity, her “ego” with this. She couldn’t speak words any more. What she did feel was very special! She had a deep inner peace and an intense connection with everything and everyone. It became completely quiet in her brain. No thoughts anymore, just silence. Her intuition was very strong. She knew exactly what someone meant from the tone of the words and whether she could trust someone. She wrote about this in her book: “My Stroke of Insight”.
Would you also like peace in your mind?
Wouldn’t you love to experience peace in your mind? No thoughts, no worries, only peace? Many people dream about it, because they can sometimes go crazy from their own thoughts and grinding brains. What I’ve experienced myself is that when I do activities for which I need the right half of my brain, it becomes completely still inside. That happens when I paint, do some knitting or crocheting, play the piano or listen to music. Hmmmm, these are activities that are under-valued in society, how peculiar!
Both brain halves
According to Dr. Bolte Taylor, the trick is having both brain halves work in balance with each other. You can live from within both your logic as well as your intuition. And the stronger your intuition becomes, the stronger we experience that we are all the same. She says: “99.9% of our genetic material is the same. And the more we realize that, that we are brothers and sisters on this planet, the easier it is for us to have compassion for each other because we know, ‘I’m a part of you’”.
The MIR-Method strengthens your intuition
Our upbringing and education have caused us to especially use our left-brain when thinking. By doing the MIR-Method, you stimulate the connection between your left and right brain halves and begin to live within your intuition. In addition, the 9 steps make sure that you do more of what you want to do, within your interests, and you are less concerned about how things are supposed to be and what you think society expects from you. And this intuitive freedom is good for your health!
