72. Music, Your Daily Power Boost — 15 Comments

  1. Hi Mireille,
Music is not good for me, believe it or not, if I listen to a song, it stays in my mind for weeks sometimes, can’t get rid of it. When I wake up many times during the night, the song is still playing in my mind. It can drive me crazy!! My nervous system has become so fragile from all the problems I’ve had in my life. I wish I could listen to music!

    • Oiça musica clássica ou música para relaxar e deve superar essa situação, com a ajuda do Método.

  2. Thank you for this article. For me? Pretty much anything by the Grateful Dead. Their lyrics are deeply human yet transcendental, and the music can take one to places only imagined. In fact beyond imagination. I am always listening to music, have been my whole life. Everything from free jazz to classical, and rock to country, and there is no music that connects me to to feelings of unity and bliss, and just good ole happy fun, more than the Grateful Dead. It is not for nothing that they are revered and loved by such a huge cross section of people around the world. Fantastic dance music! Good place to start for many would be the Albums; “Workingman’s Dead” and “American Beauty” for a sample of their beautiful lyrics and melodies. Go from there. There is more recorded live music of this band than any other in the world.
    -cheers

    • I agree , we Love them and also Play them, my Partner, as a musician, introduced me to that brillant group
And we play ans sing some songs of them together : they love eachother, throwing stones …..

  3. What a wonderful reminder! And so true. I have always loved to sing, but my husband is a classical musician and can’t stand it that I sometimes go out of tune! So I have been silenced. But I can listen! And will start again. And I can sing my heart out in the car! Or shower!

One of my favorites is my husband on the viola on “Kathleen’s Song” by Ray Lynch on his platinum album Deep Breakfast. Beautiful.

  4. Just a few favorites (out of hundred that make me happy):
    Happy – Pharell
Oh Happy Day – Edwin Hawkins Singers
    Believe – Josh Groban
    Clair de Lune – Debussy
Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany’s

  5. it’s a very special piece of music from Latvia that Anastasia Geng used to choreograph the dance for the Bach Flower remedy ELM. It helps to centre when you are overwhelmed and it’s known in many circles because of Joanna Macy who works with deep ecology … she uses it for healing the Earth and our connection ….

the singer is Ieva Akuratere and there is a youtube video of the song and if you look under elm dance, you can find a representation of the dance…the main movement is a spiral one oneself… to centre! It nourishes your heart!

  7. Patty Griffin – Heavenly Day
Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Feeling
The Cure – Friday I’m in Love

    • Dear Teri,
Hey, I didn’t know that song yet of the Cure. Thanks for letting us know! And the singer Patty Griffin is new to me. Yeah, another treasure to discover! I gotta feeling is in my car and helps me to keep up the spirit!
      Thank you for sharing!
      Mireille

  8. I have a book of 100 ballads and am often belting out songs at various times of the day and/or night. One of my favorites is FLY ME TO THE MOON.

    • Dear Susan,
Oh, that sounds wonderful! Yes, I love that song too. It is sort of comforting, isn’t it?
Hope you keep on singing forever and ever!
