172. The Connection Between Illness and Sanitary Napkins — 8 Comments

  1. I am 84, and have been incontinent for over 20 years due to allergies and asthma causing me to cough really hard that expels my urine. I’ve had constant itching, which I usually apply Polysporin too.

I am experiencing izzy spells lately that doctors cannot explain. One day I even started to “black out.

    • I would like to share a quick reply on this as I have been doing much research to better understand the leaking of urine for clients and myself and service suggestions for my clients.

I am a firm believer that Estrogen replacement, even after menopause, is key to keeping the pelvic floor in optimal function. It appears that the loss of estrogen during menopause is the key factor in bladder leakage. Speak with a menopause specialist in your area, as they can recommend the correct amount or type. The replacement will help with vaginal dryness and irritation. This does come as an Ovul for insertion in the vagina.

Pelvic Floor exercises with trained Pelvic floor therapists are also a game changer for incontinence management. Rebounding on the small trampolines is helpful as well for all again aspects of men and women. I am attaching a link to a new treatment stool that I have heard many positive results that help with incontenice as well.

  2. What about women who have stopped menstruating but due to bladder problems continue to wear pads that catch involuntary passing your urine?

    • Dear Linda,
Yep, that is -sadly- exact the same problem! Thanks for asking!
      Greetings, Mireille Mettes

  3. one group of people you are forgetting here who are well past menstruation age from 50 onwards have weak bladders and weak muscle control so often have what’s kindly referred to as little leaks who need Sanitary towels again given a different name but made of same stuff. Which putting it mildly really is a pain. (did want to say pisses me off but thought that rude) as we think past the age of menstruation Whoopi we don’t need those nappies any more and before you know it we are back in them again.so could it be having all that toxic stuff next to the most intermit part of our bodies most of our adult life is partly the cause? or is we ladies just living longer? but I’m off to view Bio or organic versions of S. towels as never to late to get healthy down there. so many thanks you newsletters get me to think out of the box.

    • Dear Pamela,
Yes, the toxicity is really a problem. I had a lecture in the Netherlands. A lady came up to me saying she stopped using the toxic materials for urine loss and she said: ‘No more itching down there!’ Well, it DOES indicate something! I am glad you give the organic versions a try!
Let me know how you’re doing!
      Greetings, Mireille Mettes
